Welcome to Fenwick’s Junior Tour of Mendip 2019, presented by BCDS.
This is an event in the National Junior Road Race series.
It is a 3 stage race, all taking place on or near the Mendip Hills (South of Bristol).
Saturday 13th April:
Stage 1 – Prologue TT (3.2 kms / 2 mls) on flat roads near Chew Valley Lake. (Start 10am). In the prologue TT (Stage1) all riders competing must use a bike and wheels that conform to what is stated in the British Cycling Technical Regulations governing a road race and not a time trial . In summary the same bike and equipment that riders will use for all 3 stages.
Stage 2 – Road stage with one significant climb and then 7 laps of a route on the top of the Mendip Hills with rolling roads – total distance 105.5 kms/66 mls. (Start 2pm)
Sunday14th April:
Stage 3 – Road stage with three significant climbs – total distance 81kms. (Start 10am)
There will be both Sprints and KoM competitions.
Race HQ for both days will be Chew Valley Leisure Centre, Chew Stoke. BS40 8QB
Junior gear restrictions will apply to all stages.
